The Eliant 820 8mm tape drive, combined with low-cost metal particle (MP) media, delivers the lowest total cost of ownership in its class. Exabyte"s Eliant 820 backs up 7 GB to a single tape cartridge at 1 MB/second (native).
Because tapes recorded on the Eliant 820 can be read by the Exabyte Mammoth drive, there is a migration path from the Eliant 820 into high-performance MammothTape technology, protecting customers" investment. In addition, Eliant is certified Microsoft Windows NT compatible and is supported by Novell Netware and most UNIX operating systems.
The Eliant 820 tape drive is compatible with Exabyte 160mXL, 15m, 54m, 112m Metal Particle (MP) media. It is available as a packaged solution in its own enclosure or as an internal drive ready to be inserted into an existing drive bay.
