O2 Asia Pacific is a member of the O2 group, a leading provider of mobile communications services in Europe with more than 35 million active mobile customers. O2 Asia Pacific provides consumers in Asia Pacific and Middle East with innovative, premium mobile data devices and services that enhance everyday business solutions and lifestyle needs.
O2 Asia Pacific has its headquarters in Singapore, with offices in Australia, Malaysia and Korea and a sister company in Hong Kong; apart from Singapore, Australia, Malaysia and Hong Kong, it also distributes in New Zealand, Indonesia, Thailand, India and the Indian subcontinent, Vietnam, Middle East and the Philippines.
O2 Asia Pacific_$low_quot$_s parent company, formerly O2 plc, was formed in November 2001 following a demerger from British Telecommunications plc. It comprises mobile network operators in the UK and Ireland, along with integrated fixed/mobile businesses in Germany, the Czech Republic (Cesky Telecom) and the Isle of Man (Manx Telecom). It also owns 50% of the Tesco Mobile and Tchibo Mobilfunk joint venture businesses in the UK and Germany respectively. In addition, the O2 group includes O2 Airwave, an advanced, digital emergency communications service.
O2 has reported revenues of £6.683 billion for the year ended 31 March 2005. Data represented 26% of total service revenues at the quarter ended 30 June 2005.
